The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to standard-setting and certification for automotive crash parts, announced the election of five new members to its Technical Committee. The appointments broaden the committee’s representation across the automotive aftermarket, collision repair, insurance and distribution sectors.
The new members include Rick Stenftenagel of Meyer Distributing, Joseph Tsai of UCC Auto Parts, Elaine Novak of USAA, Robert Aldridge of ProColor Collision, and Greg Gambrel of Caliber Collision. Each brings unique expertise that CAPA says will contribute to refining and upholding its quality standards.
“CAPA is happy to introduce these new members of our Technical Committee,” said Clark Plucinski, chairman of the CAPA Board of Directors. “Their knowledge and experience will strengthen CAPA’s certification program and provide valuable support in helping CAPA meet the constantly evolving challenges in today’s collision repair market.”
The CAPA Technical Committee is responsible for the development, maintenance and review of CAPA Quality Standards and American National Standards. It is composed of professionals from throughout the automotive parts industry, including collision repairers, insurers, parts distributors, manufacturers and quality assurance experts.
Returning members on the committee include representatives from leading organizations such as LKQ/Keystone, Allstate, GEICO, Empire Auto Parts and Micro Rim Corp., among others.
The expanded committee aims to ensure that CAPA-certified parts continue to meet rigorous industry expectations for fit, performance and safety.
